My perception of an ideal relationship: Honesty and loyalty are very important to me. Having the ability to have faith and trust in your partner is paramount to continual growth and success in a relationship. My partner would need to be someone with the ability to think on her feet, as well as able to adapt to situations quickly and smoothly when appropriate. What I've learned from my past relationships: That heartache eventually brings you back to your baseline, and that as long as you have faith in yourself, and you have love for yourself, you can learn to love again, no matter how hard relationships have been in the past. Gaining strength through the growth process stemming from past painful experiences is what has helped me learn from my mistakes. Now, I don't presume to place a potential partner in any category, as I would rather learn about someone gradually, through friendship blossoming into romance. That's probably been my mistake in the past...not becoming friends first. Because your partner has to be someone you respect as well as love, and it would stand to reason that making friends first is how you get that respect initially.
